Treble and Bass clef
« on: March 19, 2024, 02:00:51 PM »
I just discovered an additional advantage of the Genos 2.
In the score, notes below C3 (G2, G#2, A2, Bb2) are no longer shown with a bass clef (when only treble is selected in the score).
That was not the case for Genos 1.

Lower than G2 (F#2 and lower) are shown with bass clef.
Seems normal for me because F#2 is the left hand chord upper limit.

Nice to know this.

Regards
Etienne

If plan A doesn't work, don't forget that the alphabet has 25 more letters.

hi Etienne,
Are you sure Genos1 was different in this regard?
I ask, because on SX700 the score notation depends on keybed split point:
-if only R1 voice is used on whole keybed, then all notes are shown on staff with treble clef (staff with bass clef is empty)
-if L voice is also selected, then it's notes are shown in staff with bass clef (staff with treble clef only contain R1 notes)

Hi Bogdan,
I'm pretty sure.
I still have my Genos 1.
The same midi file score is shown differently on Genos 1 and Genos 2.
All settings are the same on both Genos 1 and Genos 2

When I import a simple piano midi file into Genos 2, there are two bass clefs instead of a treble and a bass clef on the score display, and all of the notes are on the upper bass clef.  In my music notation software there's a treble and a bass with notes on both.  Any idea why the Genos doesn't display the clefs correctly?

Hi jcgam,

Send me that piano midi file so I can take a look at it.

hi jcgam,

You need to set the scoresettings.
Both Left and Right channel to channel 1
On my Genos 2 it is then correctly shown.
