Hi Dears
can anybody to explain the differences between Legato & Crossfade in a detail and clear way?
thank you in advance.
Hi Amirreza2000,
On keyboards that support this (e.g. PSR-A5000), if the
Portamento Type "
Mono" is selected in Voice Edit, one of the three settings "
Normal", "
Legato" or "
Crossfade" can be used. The differences are explained on page 46 of the PSR-A5000 Reference Manual:
Portamento Type (Mono only)
Determines the behavior of the notes of decaying sounds, such as a guitar, when they are played with legato with the edited Voice set to Mono.
Normal: The next note sounds after the previous note is stopped.
Legato: The sound of the previously played note is maintained and only the pitch changes to that of the next note.
Crossfade: The sound smoothly transitions from the previously played note to the next note. See also the attached screenshot.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Chris
