Hi Folks, Smurf Here!
« on: January 20, 2024, 04:49:12 PM »
Hello folks, I am a noob to the Tyros world, having just picked up a T1 and so far I am impressed with this "old" tech. I am a drummer of 50+ years, but with gig's drying up left and right I figured why not learn the arranger keyboard!  I am FAR from a real keyboard player, and add to that a voice that only an empty field would love, but hey I can at least improve, eh?

I have ordered some items & am slowly making progress learning ow to operate this monster, so be sure I WILL be back. I hope 2024 is a decent year for us all, in Music AND in life!

Well welcome to the forum ;D

The Tyros 1 uses the older style format referred to as SFF1. The style format changed with the Tyros 3 model in 2008 to SFF2. SFF2 style will not work in your keyboard without a lot of editing of the style parts.

But you're lucky as I had the PSR-2000 and put in the work and converted over 500 styles into SFF1 format years ago.

Here's the link to my styles page ... at the very bottom are 500+ styles that will work in your T1.

You can also check other Collections for additional styles as well.

Welcome, Smurf :)
Yes, the Tyros1 is old, but a good keyboard nevertheless. We have a dance musician here in Trondheim, he is very popular, and he plays on a T1.
Just follow Drake's advice and use the SFF1 styles, and all will be vell. Happy playing!

Hello, Smurf.

Congrats to have a yamaha arranger.
You can watch my YouTube videos - I have a lot of songs, mostly recorded with my own custom styles.
A lot of people like to watch the videos, learning how to use and how to play an arranger keyboard.
