Use Genos (1 or 2) Demos to demo external sounds
« on: December 14, 2023, 04:24:50 PM »
I discovered that when I route a virtual or keyboard instrument to Genos, Genos will “demo” the external sound very well.

Since Yamaha has great demo writers, why not use them to demo your other sounds!

Just turn off the volume on Genos and demo away.

You are talking about the factory demo songs?  :o

I understand that you can’t change the factory Demos.
What i was referring to is using a simple 1 cable MIDI connection between Genos and another sound source.
You can connect to another keyboard or module.

MIDI out of Genos to MIDI In on (example) Kronos
Turn off the Genos’ volume.
Turn on the other source’s volume.

Now Genos will demo the other source’s sounds.

Be sure to select a compatible sound on Genos sounds so that Demo is appropriate..
Makes comparing Genos’ sound to another source’s sound easy and almost effortless.
