Is S770 compatible with S970 files?
« on: December 13, 2023, 02:25:26 PM »
I would like to have a backup keyboard for my S970 but it's difficult to find another one. The upgraded models don't accept my files without a lot of tweaking and I have 6 years of songs that I would have to tweak - no thanks! But I think the S770 model is the same as the S970 but just doesn't have the harmonizer. If that's the case, I would imagine my files would flow into the S770 quite nicely. And ... I do see S770s for sale!

S770 has fewer voices and styles, not to mention that the expansion memory is also smaller, it's not just the VH2 omission. What files are you talking about? Is it MIDI song files, registrations, or custom voices/styles? My SX900 is able to play T1 to T5 styles with no problems.

Thanks for the reply ... that helped a lot! I'm going to stay on the track of trying to get the files to work with the SX900.

Yeah, the s770 only has 140mb of expansion vs 509mb, no audio styles, a lot fewer sounds, and the piano on the s970 is better.
But the registrations *are* fully compatible back and forth.
