Indian Keyboard doesn't have indian style
« on: November 11, 2023, 01:38:50 PM »
Hello respected people, i recently upgraded from i425 to i500,for me it is huge upgrade . I bought it especially for indianstyles which can be used for church purposes. The styles presents in i500 are amazing without a doubt but when i search about other keyboards especially Ew425 it has quite more indian style which aren't present in my INDIAN KEYBOARD. For infosake I500 is the most selling most expected and most powerful indian keyboard under the I series. Ew425 has some Indian styles which aren't available in my keyboard-i500 but my keyboard is known as indian keyboard bcz it has "I" before the 500. My question is why my keyboard missing so many amazing indianstyles even though i bought a top notch indian keyboard (under i series) while Ew425 has amazing indian style

Well, the E425 costs a bit more than the i500.
Remember the i500 is based on an upgraded E463 (launched 2018)

Plus you're comparing the i500 (launched in 2019) to a much more recent 2022 PSRe425 (which itself share the same chipset as the PSRe473, also 2022).
The next i5xx (i510?) will be based on the 473, and *then* you'll get all the Indian styles already in EW425plus the i500 content.

You can't compare an older model, based on the E463 (launched 2018, so based on a 5.5 year old keyboard)) and wonder why the 2022 model has more content. (both based on the same 'level of sound chip),

Hi.
I see that you are referring to the styles, # 243 to 253, under World2 group. On the I500, the Indian styles are at the very beginning... # 1 to 50. I do not understand why you say the 11 styles are more than the 50. May be, the EW425 has new styles that you like but it doesn't have more than the I500.

As pointed out above, the EW425/E473 is a newer model and probably has newer styles. Have you tried the free download available on Yamaha site called I500 Festival Pack? I remember seeing another download from Yamaha for the I500 as well.

You might get more styles by installing those packs.

I am specifically interested in Mridangam sounds. So, I researched on that side not all the Indian tones and styles. As far as I can see there are only 7 Mridangam sounds in the E473 and EW425, in Indian Kit 2 (voice # 319). I believe the 5 sounds in Indian Kit 1 (voice # 318) are same sounds with a different name. The I500 on the other hand has 25 distinct Mridangam sounds, all repeated in two different kits. For my purposes, the I500 has more usable Indian sounds. I didn't have a chance to try them because this instrument is not in a store near me.

All the best.
