Locking in Recording format
« on: May 09, 2023, 02:21:52 PM »
Hi all
I've just done some quick recording on my SX700 and went to transfer the Audio files to my laptop.

Because I didn't check, (doh) the two songs have recorded in WAV and I normally directly record to MP3.

No big deal as I have now used an audio converter programme to convert them to MP3.

My question is.... Is it possible to LOCK  the recording to MP3. I can't see anything in the Manual or menus that covers this eventuality. I only ever use MP3..... see below for the reason.

For the curious, recording in WAV produced 2 recordings each of around 37Mb in size
Once converted they are now only around 5.5Mb each
As most email programmes only allow a maximum of around 20/25 Mb sending size, the WAV files are simply too big to share.

Thanks if you have any ideas.
Keith.

Just make sure when recording that you are on the right format first. Only takes a couple of seconds to do.
