would I be able to plug a TC-Helicon Voice Processor into the mic jack of sx600 to improve my vocals

Yes, plug the output of the TC Helicon Vocal Processor into the mic jack, however, switch it to Line In - NOT MIC. Mic would overload and cause distortion. Then you can access all the vocal effects of your keyboard and add them to what is produced by the TC Helicon.

Hi Ronnie,

No, the XLR output of my Voice Live Touch 2 is not connected to the mic input of my keyboard (Tyros5/Genos), but directly to an external mixer. (I always use an external mixer for live performances.)

You can connect the Mixed output (which outputs both the original Mic signal and the added Harmony signal) of your VH processor directly to the SX600's Mic Input jack. Ideally you should use an output with microphone level. It is important that you set the Mic Input Level correctly on the SX600 in the Mic Setting display (via the GAIN buttons). Important information on this can be found on pages 77/78 in the SX600 Owner's Manual.

If you use a LINE level output on the VH processor, you will have to reduce the Input Gain on the SX600 significantly. You may even have to reduce the output level on the VH processor a bit. It is important that you use an unbalanced cable to connect the VH processor to the Mic Input of the SX600, i.e. either "XLR female to TS plug" or "TS to TS". Do NOT use a cable with TRS plug(s).

Keep in mind that by using the Mic/Line In input of the keyboard offers you a lot of advantages, particularly when you are an OMB performer/entertainer. First and foremost, you get all the benefits of the vocal effects from the TC Helicon and the arranger keyboard, and bring them both through the same output.

Next, you don't need to haul a mixer around with you, which is just one more thing to go bad when you least expect. (Don't ask how I know this. )

Now, when the crowd noise increases, you only have to worry about one gain control, the main one on your keyboard. No worries with the PA system/amp, unless you crank everything up too high and overdrive the PA/Amp. It's pretty unlikely that after correctly setting and balancing the keyboard volume and mic volume, properly, that they will need to be independently adjusted again during a performance.
