Playlist editor ?!?
« on: April 10, 2023, 02:57:18 PM »
Is there any software (program) with which I could edit my playlists?
For example, I would like to alphabetically sort  my songs
or to search for an entry by entering a keyword which is not possible with Genos.
Thanks

Yes. Any spreadsheet program, as a playlist is a simple TSV file. I find Google Sheets to be the best.

Unfortunately I have to dis-agree. One of the most basic functions of any spreadsheet is to sort data. In your first post you said your wanted a program to sort your playlist in alphabetical order. IT IS EASY with a spreadsheet.

If all you want to do is sort the playlist, just do it on the Genos. Just tap the A|Z icon.

Hi dupakos,

You just have to make sure that you save the edited Playlist file in the spreadsheet program in .tsv format (= tabstop separated text file), e.g. in Excel NOT in .xlsx format. If the Spreadsheet program should still save with the file extension .txt, change it to .tvn afterwards. You can then load this file as usual in the Playlist File Selection display of the Genos.

P.S.
Maybe the "Yamaha Playlist Manager" program (initially named "Genos Playlist Worker") from our forum member Vali (valimaties) will help you:
>>> https://mvsoft.weebly.com/yamaha-playlist-manager.html

Unfortunately I can't help you in detail because I'm not using this software at the moment. But Vali will certainly help you if you have any questions. :)

P.P.S.
Fred already mentioned that you can sort a Playlist alphabetically by touching the "A|Z" icon directly in the Playlist display on the Genos. To undo this sorting, just touch this icon again. (Also see the attached screenshot.)

Best regards,
Chris

➪ Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
