Genos as a midi keyboard
« on: July 16, 2023, 11:12:17 AM »
What are you thoughts on using the Genos as a MIDI keyboard for plugin soft synth instruments running within a DAW. I have just sold my Montage as am moving over to using soft synths and looking at the feasibility of using my Genos as the keyboard controller so that the rotary knobs, sliders and buttons can be mapped to the software to control it. I have managed to map the knobs as they send out continuous controller codes (cc#) for each knob but where I get stuck is assigning any buttons because they control hardware functions and change parameters on the Genos which I don't need. The obvious buttons to use are the assignable ones A to F but these do not send a cc# to my DAW. Does anyone else use their Genos as a MIDI keyboard or should I do what I am leaning towards and that is to buy a dedicated MIDI keyboard.

It is best to buy a MIDI keyboard. And Genos can send #cc and other controls to the DAW, it just needs to be set up properly.
