Hello all,

I've had my new SX700 for about 3 weeks now, and I'm getting a handle on how to use it for use in my church services. I pre-record each song so that I can sing w/out messing everything up. :D  The biggest issue I'm having right now is that I can't find enough Contemporary Worship and Gospel styles, plus I'd like more Light Rock styles. I still have to learn how to load in expansion packs, but I want to find them first. I did see the Christmas one from Yamaha.

Also--is there a way to lock the tempo? When I'm choosing a style for a song I want to hear them in the tempo the song needs, not whatever the voice was recorded with. It's a pain to have to speed up/down each style when I'm going through them all.

Thank you!
Caroline

Hello Caroline and welcome to our community.  ;D

There are literally thousands of styles for you download to use here at our PSR Tutorial Site.
A good place to begin, I suggest this link:
https://www.psrtutorial.com/sty/collections/onacimus.html

You might also save a lot of time and help support the site by getting any one of these items:
https://www.psrtutorial.com/cdrom/productsum.html

Any purchase from this list would make you a supporting member and open to you our Charter Members ONLY section of the forum that would become visible and available to you. There are even more styles and hundreds of PDF song books for you to use with your keyboard.

As to locking the tempo, you simply begin any style to play at your selected Tempo and then call up your next style “without stopping” the current style from playing.

The greatest power of what can be done with your keyboard is its ability to mix the parts of all the styles into your own custom made styles. Everything you need is already in your keyboards 400+ styles. You just need to reassemble the pieces.  ;)

Hello Caroline,
I sometimes use my PSR630 which has 'only' 100 styles to accompaniment songs at my assembly and it works.
take the time to test the styles of your keyboard with the songs and you will see that little by little you will find the right styles with each song and you save it with the settings in your keyboard.

Hello Carolina, you can download all styles by category. I separated it into folders that you can copy to a pendrive or copy to your keyboard's internal memory.
The folders also have styles that are not on the SX900/700, from other keyboards like Genos and past PSR lines. So they are more complete than your own keyboard.
I hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the responses!

DrakeM: Re Tempo: I start listening to a style, and use the tempo buttons to set the tempo where I want it. Without turning the style off, I click on the next style on the screen. It immediately changes to that style's built-in tempo. Is there another way I should be doing it?
Thanks for the links. I'd looked at the files on the site, but wasn't sure I could use them on the SX700 since they only say SX900. Do they work on the SX700 too?

Franck: I'm probably a little too picky, wanting something really specific, lol. I'll definitely keep listening to what I've got.

Enildo: Thanks so much! I'll look into doing that.

You can hold the tempo by selecting :Function, Style Setting/split point/fingering. Under the Style Setting page, you have several tempo options on the lower right side of the display. Once set, they remain in place until you change them.

You can also lock the tempo with the Registration/Freeze/Voice Setting page, also accessed via the Function button.

Hope this helps,

All styles will work in your new SX700. It's is just a very few that will have a missing PART, which you won't even notice on most cases.
