Who has factory style files of PSR-E473/PSR-EW425?
« on: January 20, 2023, 12:34:55 PM »
I just found out some of the styles are new that even Genos doesn't have them. I would like to download them and use them on my Tyros 4.
Especially song styles like Happy8Beat.
Who can help me to find those styles?

Unlike the PSR / Tyros / Genos models, I don't think it is possible to export the preset styles from the E series keyboards. So nobody but Yamaha will have those exact files.

Perhaps a version of the particular style you want has been released through an expansion pack or some other way?

That's sad. I wish someone could export them using some hacking methods or such like writing to MIDI and making it a style file.

PSR-SX900 has a style called "HappyBeat" (if that's the same as Happy8Beat) -maybe you try it and see.

HappyBeat is a Jazz style and isn't the same as Happy8Beat.
Happy8Beat is a style recreation of Happy by Pharrell Williams.

I think that good though it is, the Genos was introduced on October 2nd 2017, the Tyros 4 even earlier.
There are always going to be newer styles and voices on newer models.
If you wanted the newer styles that much, the E473 is priced so low as to maybe consider it as a second keyboard to play alongside your existing keyboard?

I have owned the E473.... and sold it on.... It's a decent keyboard, but, in my opinion, not one that I would hanker after for just a couple of styles/voices. It's more of a mini synth / basic keyboard  than an arranger keyboard,
Maybe work on adapting an existing style or even construct your own style in Style Creator to achieve the sound you are after, would be your best chance.  Hope that helps.

It thought I had heard of this style a while back, and I just checked -- Happy8Beat is a style listed in the data list for the PSR-E453, which came out around 2016.  Seems like this 6-7 year old style should be available somewhere.  However, like DerekA said, as far as I know, styles on the PSR-E series keyboards are hard-coded in them and cannot be exported from them.  But since this style has been around for several years, I wonder if one of the various style packs that Yamaha sells might have it.

Could have sworn that I bought that style from Yamaha Musicsoft. Browsing Musicsoft, it looks like Yamaha have drastically reduced the number of available style files. Could be a digital rights, royalty or other legal thing. Who knows?

The SX900 "HappyBeat" is definitely not Pharrell.  :o :D

Hi GooSee.
I found a style for this song in my style collection. It's a user style, but maybe it will suit too.
