Is there a way to have a Genos power on with a style different from SkyPop?

No.

The standard solution is to create a setup registration which sets up the keyboard the way you like it. Load this registration every time you power up.

That would explain why my search through the manuals for the simple and obvious answer I assumed would be there turned up nothing.  :D
