Is there a unbalanced overhead mic with unbalanced 1/4 plug for SX900?
Thanks

I use a Shure WH20 Headset with a 1/4" plug and it works great with my S950 keyboard

Here is my YouTube channel and I have a lot of videos posted with me using the mic, so you can hear what it sounds like.

I also use about a 4 foot extension with it.

Thanks! Where is a good place to purchase? I searched Amazon and it said “with 1/4 plug” but was wireless. Must have been error on their part. Thanks again Lone Arranger!

Hi Mhack,

I would take the XLR version of the Shure WH20 and add an "XLR female to 6.3 mm TS jack plug (unbalanced)" cable of the desired length. By the way, the XLR plug of the WH20XLR has a practical belt clip.

The advantage of the XLR plug version is that you also can easily connect the microphone (directly or via a standard XLR microphone cable) to balanced XLR inputs (e.g. to a mixer or keyboard with XLR microphone input such as Genos).

Best regards,
Chris

➪ Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
➪ Never put the manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

I found this site that offers the 1/4" plug.

You can also call them and make sure they have it in stock and that it has the 1/4" plug for $80.

Seems folks want to go wireless these days.

Thanks! While checking my computer mic cable that ties to Solo I discovered XLR male connects to it and I have XLR TO 1/4 plug to SX900. So, had it wrong on computer/mic hook-up. I have ordered WH20 with wired XLR. I really appreciate all of the suggested plans of action!

Thanks for the feedback Mhack! Please note that an unbalanced adapter cable must be used, i.e. XLR female to 1/4 inch TS phone plug (no "stereo" TRS phone plug!).

Thanks, Chris! My sm58 cable hooks to Sx900 via female XLR with unbalanced 1/4 plug to mic input. It is the same type hook-up from computer sm58 into SOLO.
