Mic input jack broken inside !!
« on: July 08, 2022, 09:08:02 PM »
Dear all,
Last night I had an unexpected event: the microphone was not working, and while pulling the connector out of the socket I realized that the jack head was broken!! It was stuck inside (and it is still there). Do I need to open up the keyboard? Any tip or suggestion?
I am in trouble..
Thanks

Hello Simone1972

Not obvious but I found this on the internet.

It's up to you to find a plastic tube of the order of 3 to 4 mm or more to try to do the same thing. A very small drop of speed glue can be placed inside the outside of the tube to improve the hold when you tear it off.

Jean Pierre,

just fantastic!

I had the same problem with my previous Korg Pa3x, and I had to take it at the Korg assistance lab to let them fix......

Hope won't happen again. But if so, I'll try the method you indicated, saving money and time.

Thank you,

Angelo

Hello friends,

I'm not sure of the result but the method seems good to me. Several attempts may be necessary and Simone1972  will tell us.
Good Sunday
best regards

You can actually buy broken Jack removal tools on the internet. Look it up, make sure you get the right size, most are for the 3.5 mini jacks on headphones, but you need 6 mm. If you try the plastic tube method it’s possible a small piece of chewing gum might work rather than superglue.
