Power Adapter to Sx900
« on: July 02, 2022, 03:38:49 PM »
Hi Guys, I would like Yamaha to implement a thicker cable in the power adapter.

Since the one that comes with the keyboard is very thin, and it breaks easily.

Instead of an adapter, Yamaha could directly implement a power cord in the next mid-range models

Cheers

Agree with you.
Unfortunately as I remember Yamaha always made a fragile cable in the power adapter.

The cable seems too small. It twists and bends easily. I use electrical tape wrapping at each end of cable to add strength to it.

I recommend NOT using regular (self-adhesive) electrical insulation tape here (e.g. to increase the anti-kink protection for power adapters with thin DC cables). I use a so-called "Rubber Splicing (Self Fusing / Self Bonding) Tape" like the product "Scotch #23":

➪ Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
➪ Never put the manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hi Chris, thanks for the quick solution to this problem.

anyway i still think yamaha can implement an ac power cord, instead of power adapter for upcoming arranger models

Cheers
