Creating an ordered list of songs?

I am (slooooooowly) learning the technicalities of this wonderful machine. But, yet again, have not found an easy go to answer having searched/read/banged my head against a wall.
Basically, I am adding songs to my USB then adding them to the User section in the Songs area. What I'd like to do is place them in order for several sets that we perform.
How can this be performed?
🤔

Unfortunately, I do not own a Genos, however, as an onstage performer and entertainer for more than 30 years, I found there were two excellent methods of doing this.

Registrations are likely the best technique for your situation, whereas you can name or number them so they either come up in alphabetical or numerical order. I found that using the title of the song worked best for me, therefore, when someone in the band got a request for Brown Eye Girl, I merely scrolled through the registrations until I got to Brown Eye Girl. Everything, intro, variation, tempo, etc... was saved into the registration, including the muting of any instrument I did not want the keyboard to play because a band member would be taking care of that instrument.

I also used, with a great deal of success, the Music Finder Directory, which on the Genos is the Song List. Again, I did this by song title, therefore making an instant selection with a single button push. Not quite the amount of information as stored on a registration, but most of the time I was performing as a single, therefore, it worked great for me.

Hope this helps,

So, is it not possible to do this within the Songs section?
Just curious, now, as we have around 80 songs in the repertoire and thought that using Registrations would,
A/. Be limited to how many can be added.
B/. Limited to what can be done (edit) to each instrument within the 16 channels I've created.

By the way, if you haven't already guessed, this is all totally new to me. A minefield! 😲

Force81,

I think you are confusing Songs with Playlists. I am assuming when you say songs you mean styles or registrations. in the Genos Song section there are either MIDI files of MP3's. Although you can play along with these, for live performances it is difficult, but some do it. As Gary Stated above and I agree with him, that Registrations are the easiest way to put your Playlists in order. In addition to what Gary said, you can also put a number in front of the Registration/Song name to put them in any order you want not just alphabetical.
If I am missing the point let me know.

On a Tyros, you do what you want with registrations.

You create a registration for each song. For a gig, you create a gig list by copying the registrations to a folder (I name with folder with the date of the gig). Then rename the files by inserting the order at the front of the file name. It's easier to do this part with a computer.

You can see a video on how this is done in my registration lessons (link in my signature).

Thank you, guys.
First, I have a T5. Hence, that's why I thought I'd put my question in the Tyros 5 forum-post-thingy (not sure what it is called as I'm not hugely technically minded! 😱)
Second, I'll try and explain a bit better (if I can. I'm not great at explaining 🙃) :
1/. I create, what I call, a song. That is, the drums, percussion, rhythm, bass, etc, etc. Everything there except the lead vocal so my better half sings. Basically, it becomes the backing track for her live performances while I, if I wish, play some other parts along with it.
2/. I save this as a MIDI file.
3/. The MIDI is saved into the 'User' section of the Songs folder. For example, it might be called, 'Heartbreaker'.
4/. For backup I, also, save this to a USB flash drive. Again, keeping the same name.
5/. The question is this, if I create and store another song (let's call it a backing track) then another then another, etc (all with their own titles, obviously), can they be placed in an order that I will be using in a set, instead of just random?
It would be lovely to think that I could rearrange them into an order that suits us according to where we are playing.
Hope this helps.

Just do that on the computer, then transfer the folder to the kryboard.

Wow! Really? Is it THAT simple!?!
I hope so. That's what I'm all about. Keep it simple.
Can't wait to try this out......

Midi files (actually, all file types on Yamaha arrangers) are sorted alphabetically. If you're creating MMO (backing) midis, create a folder for the set you want to perform (you could label it the date of the gig) and then copy midi files into that folder (up to 255 files and subfolders per folder on older Yamahas, on T5 I think the limit is 500? I always use 255 per folder so that I can use my USB gigging stick on any keyboard)

Now rename them in the order you want to perform them in, with 01, 02, 03 in front of the name. (001 if you're going to use over 99 songs)
rather than alphabetically they'll show up in numerical prefix order.

Note: I typed copy, not move, because your song library will sort alphabetically anyway, which I personally find quicker to search alphabetically anyway)

I suggest the preceding numbers be something like 005, 010, 015, 020, etc.  so you have the flexibility to re-order the list or insert additional items by manipulating a few numbers without having to renumber the entire list.  As examples, the fourth item (020) can become the second by changing its number to 007, or a new item can be added between 010 and 015 by assigning it number 012.
