Behringer FCB1010 on Genos
« on: April 20, 2022, 07:04:54 PM »
I'm migrating from a T3 to a Genos and bought an FCB1010 to give me more quick change options.

I did not use MIDI on the T3 so am somewhat new to it and I don't want to configure anything very fancy. I'd be happy for now to just get pedals 1-5 to do what I want.

After copying examples I was able to find I get pedal 1, 2, and 5 to work correctly. But pedal 3 does what pedal 4 is supposed to do and pedal 4 does nothing. The expression pedals do nothing either. Pedals 6 and 7 don't work either.

I have attached a screen shot of the configuration I have using FCB1010 Manager on my Mac. The documentation I find for any of this is very limited. I've watched videos and studied text from other posts but I've found nothing for the Genos specifically, which somewhat surprises me, especially since the Yamaha footboard is no longer available.

I also want to program the Rotary Speaker switch and haven't figured any way to do that.

Is there any specific documentation for this? Does anyone have a sysex file I can use as a template?

I also am not sure what CC# corresponds to in the Manager and what PC1-4 correspond to on Genos.

Thanks.

Hello Juneau,

I would like to direct your attention to page 148 of the Genos Reference Manual.

As you will see, it is possible to change what each CC is doing on the Genos, and change the part(s) it is applied to.
So what do PC1-4 correspond to ?  Whatever you set it as.
I think this is both a blessing an a curse.  Blessing in the extra flexibility it provides.  Curse in that it makes things more complicated.

I tried an FCB1010 for a while, but I decided to go Midi Bass pedals, and there wasn't enough room for both.  Unfortunately, it was a while ago, but I do remember programming the 1010 by pushing the on-board buttons, not using a computer.  If my memory is correct, I set the 1010 to send out CC7 for the expression pedal, and CC1 for the other pedal.  The rest of the buttons on the 1010 I set to send a note on/off, and used the Genos screen from page 148 to set what that note did.

Hope that's somewhat helpful.

Good luck

Adam Parker

Thanks. I’ve seen p. 148-151 and each time I look at them I learn more.

I think I can figure out some things I need but I was hoping to find some real examples rather than trial and error. But I’ll keep trying and looking.

Hi Juneau,
I have some documents for the Behringer FCB1010 which I requested from Behringer here in Australia many years ago and received several which may be useful to you. Im not sure how to get them to you as we are not supposed to put our email address here on the forum.
Anyone got any suggestions how to go about helping Juneau with my documents.

Murray

Edit: Just set up OneDrive for the first time so here's hoping it works.

Murray Can you not scan the documents then load them up to a storage site then provide a link the documents, then everyone who would like a copy can download it from the storage site.

Murray,

Get yourself a free Dropbox account and upload the documents to it. Then share it and copy the link and post the link in here.

I have set up OneDrive so please let me know if it is working and giving you access to the FCB1010 folder and the 9 files inside.

I have upgraded my FCB1010 with a uno2 firmware (https://www.fcb1010.eu/uno2.html). Now I also can sent sysex.

But with the original firmware or with firmware Uno 1.04, you can sent a midi note on on channel 16 for a Tyros
pad 1 is C#-1
pad 2 is D-1
pad 3 is D#-1 and so on

For my PSR-sx700 I can only sent Sysex (with Uno2)
TRIGGER_CLICK SXFillAA = SendSysEx F0 43 7E 00 10 7F F7
TRIGGER_CLICK SXFillBB = SendSysEx F0 43 7E 00 11 7F F7
TRIGGER_CLICK SXFillCC = SendSysEx F0 43 7E 00 12 7F F7
TRIGGER_CLICK SXFillDD = SendSysEx F0 43 7E 00 13 7F F7
TRIGGER_CLICK SXBrkFill  = SendSysEx F0 43 7E 00 18 7F F7
TRIGGER_CLICK SXEnding1 = SendSysEx F0 43 7E 00 20 7F F7
