« on: March 27, 2022, 10:17:12 PM »

Wow! Thanks! That means they work on sx600? I was afraid because of the 3layered right voices missing from sx600, they would not work.

What do you mean Graham?should i have them edited? Or you say, when i import them they will sound differently. I want to use the tyros5/sx900 synthpopduo to be able to play brother louie of modern talking and more hits of this band, but i want them to sound similar on sx600 (and i need ots because i use this most of the time)
Tx.

Just try the styles and listen...You can't do any arm to the keyboard.

I have DGX670 Some other style downloads sound fine...others don't because different models contain different or more voices and Drum Kits can be different.

Early model PSR2000 Styles from this site work good on my DGX

I just tried and succesfully imported sx900's synthpopduo style into sx600  and although it works (some.voices from variations are missing the names on the display) it doesnt sound the same on sx900 or tyros5. It sounds bad.

Where was the bad sound? RHY2, CHD1, PAD or PHR1 Let us know.

If it was OTS, you just need to pick any voice and save the style.

I wanted to play one of my fav songs - Brother Louie (very easy) , i even learned the chords, but it doesnt sound the same with this video on tyros5 having the same style (synthpopduo): https://youtu.be/KnPPY2TqkA8

I dont recognize on my sx600 imported version any of the 2,3 or 4 variations from the video. On my sx600, variations 2,3 and 4 sound totally different. Voices in ots (not by default on variation change) are ok, i mean it brings pads/synths ok, similar to the video but their name on the display is not shown. Pads are also messed up, i get on sx600 some drums/snares/etc and in the video its Orchestra Hit. I guess even the tempo maybe it is faster than original. Could it be that synthpopduo style in sx900 sounds entirely different than on tyros5? Hmmm...maybe  i should try importing the origjnal synthpopduo style from tyros5, i wonder if it works.
Does anyone have a brother louie true song style for sx600? The guys at prostylemusic.net have but sadly, not for sx600 (you need also to buy a dance pack sadly not for sx600 aswell).
Bad news.

PS: i take the opportunity to say from all my heart that i love the sx600. I cant believe the styles and voices sound so good at such a budget price, they sound i think better than on my old tyros2 which i had sold. Im impressed, yesterday i played until midnight just to discover, i was impressed, and i didnt even triggered the dsp effects nor layered the voices. Its awesome, i cant believe it. If this budget jkeyboard is like this,i wonder how sx700, sx900 or genos could be. Its outstanding, i have alot of tyros5 voices preset. The only minus so far, the build qualityz the pitch wheel and the keyboard (the keys - some.space between keys and 2 keys a bit unleveled vs the other keyb, maybe one key). Overall, at this price, i cant believe it. It puts to shame even the most powerful vsti. Plus, it has great sounding styles.

The way I deal with OTS's.
I have a number of my FAVORITE VOICES saved in RGT's with the STYLE UNTICKED.
Now you can use these with any selected style.

PS. Love the Key-Bed on the DGX.

What do you say?from what i understand, you dont use ots during a style play but registrations having the same style but with different voices? And you have the "ots link" unticked yes so you dont trigger ots when playing different style variations.

That's to be expected, there's no way they would load T5/SX900 sounds on the lowest tier PSR. Even on my SX900 there are some missing instruments when I use styles from T4 because in my case SA2 voices don't exist.

I see the SX600 as the stepping stone from moving up from the PSR EW series, but once you see the shortcomings of the SX600, that's how Yamaha gets you to upgrade to the next model up.
