2.11: Fixed a problem in which MIDI template files could not be saved under normal operation, which only occurs with firmware version 2.10.

Tnx for the info.
At least this show us that Yamaha still have not forgotten that Genos exists.  :D ;D
Cheers 🥂

Definitely, really pleased to see this was addressed not long after it came to light (me included) on this forum.
Top marks Yamaha.

Upgrading the Firmware is easy and I believe most of the members present here know the procedure. Regardless, I will post a video showing how the upgrade should be done.

I applied ckobu's workaround solution to this problem so I'm not sure there is a need for me to update to 2.11. But I'll do it anyway just in case something else pops up after the update so Yamaha can hopefully fix that too. ;D

All the best,
Mike

Hi, if I have older firmaware version and want to update to 2.13, do I need to install all the updates between the curent and newest, or is the 2.13 "cumulative", so it is containing all the updates from earlier versions?
Thank youf

Hi fischnek,

As already mentioned, you can always go directly to the current version.

If you have a very old firmware version on your Genos (V1.41 and earlier), please note that with the update to V2.13 all user defined System settings will be initialized and even cannot be restored by loading a System Setup file (.ssu) or Backup file (.bup). Also custom MIDI settings and User Effect settings would not be restored by loading a .bup file. However, you could save the User MIDI and User Effect setup files individually and restore them under V2.13.

Unfortunately, the information about these details on the update download page (red font) is somewhat complicated (and incomprehensible for some users):

➪ Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
➪ Never put the manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
