Topic: midi song- copy the sounds

I have an excellent MIDI file/song that I want to copy the sounds

And then abandon the MIDI file, opting to play those sounds live.

I will have to choose the most relevant sounds, wittling down from 16 parts to 4.

But how do I copy those 4 main sounds into a registration?

Maybe I did not describe the goal properly?

There are 16 sounds being triggered in the excellent MIDI file (song file ).

Its is an orchestral style... layers of orchestral sounds playing melody and countermelodies and accompaniment

I have to make due with 4 of the 16, and actually perform the song "live", without MIDI file

Some of the voices used are not found in the standard preset area of t4.

As I am writing now, it seems this isn't complicated; but when I try, I run into difficulties.
