I believe those assignments will not stay assigned unless you save them as a registration
i have lost that assignment evertime i load in a new registration/song
they default back to score text no assigned. etc
i told him this in an email
he told me to upgrade versions which i have months ago

am i right here. you have to save this assignment to a registration

You do not need to use registrations for this. Assignments DO stay through a power off/on cycle without using registrations.

Your problem is you have registrations where you have memorized the assignments, so the registration does what you asked it to do -- set the assignments you memorized.

You need to re-memorize your registration(s) ensuring the assignment box is unchecked.
