Attach computer keyboard?
« on: January 22, 2022, 02:18:16 AM »
Anyone had any success in attaching a wired keyboard to the Genos?  I find the naming of Registrations, Songs etc tedious with having to push the "Shift" key and then remember to press it again to return to lower case.  It becomes really tedious with multi-word titles etc.

Cheers

What you want to do is use "USB Storage Mode".

Connect your Genos to a computer using a standard printer cable (the USB-to-host port on the back to a USB in on your computer). Power up your Genos while holding down the Playlist button.

Now the Genos User drive looks like an external drive to the PC. Edit your file names to your heart's content.

Cheers,

Thanks for the tip, Fred.

How's the winter in Saskatoon?  I'm originally from Montreal, live in Cairns now.

Welcome aboard, Dave!

Fred is right on the money with using a USB cable to link directly to your computer. The Geno becomes another drive on your computer.

I too was raised in Montreal from 1955 to 1969 in the west island suburb of Pointe Claire! Those were the days of "real winters."

This is great! Is it in one of the manuals?

Edit: Just found it in the Reference Manual.
