YEM importing Genos 2 voice stored as SAR file
« on: February 01, 2024, 07:10:37 PM »
I created a new voice on the Genos2 with voice edit (from an original String).
I stored it in the USER space.

I would want to create a second voice from this one adding same strings sounds, one octave upper over the existing one.

I want to know if the 8 elements are already used and want to use YEM to eventually add elements one octave upper.

The file is stored in the USER space (and on USB) as a "SAR" file (1ko) which can't be imported on YEM 2.10 .

Do you have an idea?

(I'm also surprised not to see the original strings voice, the one I used to create my own initial voice, in the strings list when I want to create from scratch a new Genos2 custom voice).

hi Soundphase,
SAR file is not a voice: it only contains settings for particular super articulation voice. Voice settings (SAR, VCE, etc.) can't be imported into YEM.

Hi, if you are missing some of your favorite string sounds (or others), look in the Legacy folder in the voice folder you are looking for.
A lot of the old gems are there.
Good luck, TOM

Strings in the legacy folder are too synthetic, and strings in the nominal folder are too harsh as soon as they are played at a higher velocity level than the lowest ones.
