I feel it's time to update the PDF ( 2016 ) for the FAQ.

I agree. Lots have changed.

I am unable to take it on.

It needs a new author-collector of posts-etc.

Good idea. All it needs is a volunteer to take in the job.

I assume everything described in the FAQ so far is correct, at least for the instruments existing before 2016.
What it needs are additions for the latest new instruments from Yamaha.
Especially for some new features like Chordlooper, ...

Are you going to start writing the update ?
Or are you asking for somebody to start writing the update.

Etienne

I'm not sure about how the procedure is for this.

I think it doesn't necessarily have to be the work of one person.
I mean that the additions (new items) can be suggested by any member and then be centralized to one person who adds them to the FAQ.

Perhaps start a thread asking what items people want to add to the FAQ.
Depending on the number of responses, it can already be determined how great the interest is for an update.

I also think it will be more a keyboard specific update for PsrSX... and Genos.

Etienne

The first thing you do is volunteer. If there's a volunteer, it won't be hard to make the original document available so it can be updated.

One volunteer is worth ten pressed men (or women).

@Normanfernandez
I did send you a mail with a link for the download of the editable word document (docx) for the existing FAQ 2016 pdf file.

Let me know if you are volunteer for updating the FAQ.
I have the possibility to upload the eventually updated file to the website.

Etienne

In the past, the job included

* Collecting and editing (to be briefer and to the point) information posts that were made on the forum that otherwise would be lost in time and the quantity of material.

* Accepting mail messages from users that had solutions that they wanted to be reviewed before being posted.

* Investigating and documenting solutions that would be useful to others.

* Discarding posts that were no longer relevant or covered in newer ones.

There is no reason that this job should be done just by one person and there are many opportunities for users to collect and edit solutions for the areas where they have interest and experience.

The main editing is to only deal with genuinely frequent mainstream issues. A frequently asked question list is not useful if it is so long that itís just as quick to search the whole forum.
