I would love to see a DGX that…
« on: August 16, 2021, 04:37:21 PM »
Was about 10-12 lbs lighter.

Had a larger screen…readable for gigs etc

Had stereo outs

Perhaps a video out

Enhanced vocal/style capabilities and enhanced registration capabilities.

Seems to me this keyboard would have real potential as a gigging piano.

😊

Here is a keyboard that comes close to what I would be looking for.

It does not have vocal input, larger screen and a few other things, but would be a good model

Note, for those suggesting a Genos, I have that keyboard but it does not play like an 88 key hammered action piano.

You could buy an 88 key controller and midi it to the Genos, or even a SX900, since number of keys or keyboard on the arranger would no longer matter  I did that for years and it was great. The combination is like a portable CVP.

Good point.

My thought was for Yamaha to come up with a hammered action, 88 key, 35lbs or less, piano that has much of the capabilities of a PSR SX600 or something like it…

I had my Genos midi’d to a Roland rd2000.  Worked great but too much to haul to gig with.

Thx for the thought

Full hammer action controllers are heavy and expensive but I compromised and bought a semi weighted 88 key MAudio controller. Weighed nothing and cost under $200. I enjoyed playing it much more than the arranger alone.

Not to mention that the Genos costs about six times what a DGX-670 costs.  It would be like someone making suggestions on how to improve a Chevrolet sedan and then telling him to check out the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class!

I would like Yamaha to test their software before release. Bonus playlist inoperable as well as android support, that's pathetic, a big deal breaker
