use PSR-SX900 as sound module in a DAW
« on: August 10, 2021, 07:53:06 PM »
whats the best way to use PSR-SX900 as sound module in cubase or another DAW ?
is there a VST editor for PSX-SX900 or patch script or something so I can select sound in Cubase and save the selections for each track and channel ?

Connect Sx to your computer via USB cable. Before that, you need to install Yamaha USB MIDI drivers.
Enter a list of instruments in DAW and you can store all controls and instruments in each project (Song) separately. I recommend the free Cakewalk.

When there is no instrument list for the PSR SX900 in DAW, the name of the instrument playing will not be displayed on the channels.
You can see that in the video from my last post at 03:27 sec. When you enter the list of instruments in DAW, then you will have the entire list as it is on the keyboard. (video 05:37 sec).

With Cubase, you enter the list of instruments like this.

ckobu, Perhaps you could tell me, Is it possible to use the iPad Cubasis softawe in the same way? I mean, having the PSR SX900 as a sound module and the midi file in the ipad? How is the mapping instruments managed in the Cubasis software, I haven’t seen any download patch for this.  thanks.

regards.
👍🏻 Don't worry be happy!

I don't use an iPad but I think the same connection procedure is required. See these instructions.
