Drum mapping
« on: May 14, 2021, 11:11:25 PM »
Hi folks!

Is there a way to assign a sound from a different drum kit in Genos just as in the Tyros 5?

i.e. I have sampled a drum kit and i'd like to use the snare with the (i.e. Standard kit) in the same kit.

Question 2

I have recorded my own styles and some of them have megavoice effects i.e. strums...but the result is a mess when trying to play with them because the keyboard changes the notes just as if the sound should change with the rest but i'd like it to stay with the strumming or effects. (chord channel 1 ukulele (normal) + phrase 1 Megavoice steel guitar for strum sounds)).

How could i do that, i also have StyleMagic YA.
Thank you in advance.

Luis.

Hi Luis
1. a) If you want to change the drum on the whole drum battery, you can do it in YEM. The video shows how to do this with a factory drum, the same principle applies with your own samples.

1. b) If you want to change the drum on only one style, then do it in the Style crator. Tyros 5 didn't have this option so I guess you didn't ask for it but it's good to know that on Genos it can be done.

2. a)Tones that must not be changed are in the upper octaves. To block them you need to use the option in the CASM channel settings. (High Zone> Bypass). You will do this in Style Magic YA, I marked with a yellow marker.

2. b)I guess you didn’t ask for it but it’s good to know, tones you don’t want can be deleted as follows.
