SX600...Can you play registrations from the USB drive?
if so is there any limitations on how many Reg setups you can store....

Also can you use a 128G Usb drive on the SX600?

Thanx

Yes. Therefore the only limit on the number of registration files you can have is the capacity of the drive.

Just so you know, you are WAY overthinking this playlist thing. They are much simpler than you’re trying to make them out to be.

You should sit down at the keyboard, create a playlist (the icon with the plus sign), then find a couple of registrations. Now you’ve created your first one. Shouldn’t take you more than five minutes. Experience is the best teacher.

Fred your probably right.......it was mostly the confusion of learning that the playlist is saving a REG folder first....
then it can be opened in the playlist to see all the contents....
I guess I was under the impression like the songbook feature on my KORG arrangers where the songs are openly listed to play singularly with  the Reg folder step added by Yamaha to open confused me a bit. Now I think I have the concept.
No matter how you look at it it is a necessity for the player for sure and makes search vs reg pages much faster....
Thank you

If I read this thread correctly, if RGT files are grouped in sets and put into folders, does this eliminate the need to use the expansion manager? Or am I over egging the pudding?

Expansion is only used for Sampled voices that you download in packs you have on the YEM.

Hi Eileen
Perhaps I was not too clear with my post. Dnj asked can RGTs be played from a USB and 'Muddy's' reply suggests this is possible if placed into folders onto a USB. So, can this bypass the use of YEM to make expansion packs?

The short answer is no.

Where you put your registrations has nothing to do with expansion packs.

Thanks Fred. That answers that little question. However, fiddling about with my RGT files this afternoon, I now have them mostly sorted into folders for similar styles and sounds. It has allowed me to make up my own play lists and makes things so much easier to find. All my Orchestral sounds, Theatre and Classical organ and Various electronic organ sounds, plus a long list of other musical instrument sounds are so much easier found. I wasn't aware it was possible to use RGT files in quite this way until Dnj asked the question and 'Muddy' gave a clear answer. So, Thanks to all for your contributions, most helpful.

Most of the time, I load styles, registrations from the USB drive as I already setup and saved them when playing Tyros3.
Taking these over to the SX600 , work same way.
With a 4GB thunb drive, there more styles and registrations than one can ever use (10 to 20 thousands !!!)
However, audio WAV recording will chew up space a lot faster, about 80-90 mins of audio uses 1GB.
I always move these WAV files to my PC and delete them from the USB drive to free up space.

Korg PA-50, Yamaha YPG-235, E443, EW410, YPT400, Tyros3, Genos, Medeli AKX10, S770
