I have assigned a few things to the assignable buttons on my sx 900 but can't figure out how to Assign Mic on/off to one of the assignable buttons.

Can you help?

Hi Frank,

to my knowledge, the "Mic On/Off" function cannot be assigned to an Assignable button. The normal way would be just pressing the "Mic Setting / Vocal Harmony" button and then touching the "Mic On/Off" button.

In the SX900 Reference Manual (page 115) I saw that you can assign the "Talk On/Off" function to an Assignable button. If you don't normally use the "Talk" function, you could set the "Talk" volume to zero, then you can "switch off" the Mic with the relevant assignable button.

Best regards,
Chris

What I do is set up these 4 buttons on a registration.
1- Mic OFF (so you can talk to someone)
2- Mic ON but with NO reverb on (so you can talk to your audience)
3- Mic ON with Reverb on your vocals
4- Mic ON with Reverb on your vocals and BACKUP singer/singers to harmonize with you.

Then I have set up a dozen or so registrations with different amounts of REVERB on the mic and/or Different backup sings MEN/WOMEN and 1,2 or more persons.

It works perfect.  ;)

SX-900

1. Hold Direct Access, and select any Assignable button letter

2. This will display the Assignable Page.

3. Under Assignable buttons, choose a letter you want to change

4. This will take you to Category.

5. Scroll down to page 2 and tap select Mic

6. You can then assign - Talk On/Off - VH Harmony On/Off- VH Effect On/Off - to any shortcut assignable letter

Microphone volume can be assigned to Live Control Knobs. So, in addition to being able to reset the volume whenever you want, you can also lower or increase the volume to your liking.
Press Direct Access + Assign (Live Control) / Knob1 or 2 Mixer/ Volume/ Panel 2. Now select the volume controls you want the Knob to control. I have selected MIC, Talk and Guitar at the same time.
