3/4 Time
« on: February 14, 2021, 05:54:44 PM »
Hi. Can anybody help me please?

I’ve just recently purchased an SX700 and going through the styles I can hardly find any in 3/4 time. I’ve found a couple of waltzes in the dance section but that is all. I have many pieces in 3/4 time and I end up having to use the same couple of styles for all of them.

Are there any styles hidden away in the timing I want?

The first thing you should do is search for "waltz" styles. The search function will handle looking for part of a name.

In looking at the style list, I see the following 3/4 styles:
Ballroom: EnglishWaltz, FinalWaltz, SlowWaltz, VocalWaltz
Entertainer: SchlagerWaltz
Jazz: CooJazzWaltz, MediumJazzWaltz, SlowJazzWaltz, RomanticWaltz, TradPianoJazz
Movie&Show: ChristmasWaltz, GuitarSerenade, VienneseWaltz
World: BohemianWaltz, CountryWaltz, FrenchWaltz, ItalianWaltz, MariachiWaltz, OberkrainerWaltz, ScandWaltz, ScottishWaltz

I'm sure there are others.

Cheers,
Fred

Hi Fred,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I feel a right “***” now. How I missed all of them I don’t know. I didn’t think of searching for waltz would you believe. I’m going to put it down to many ‘senior moments’.

Thanks again, you’ve made me a happy man.

Tony.

on the older models with a MusicFinder, you could sort the music finder by time signature. Do newer models not have the equivalent?

Hi Anthonyd,

I searched the SX700 Preset Styles in the PC program >>> "PSR Style Database" for Time Signature 3/4, 6/4, 6/8 and 12/8. See the attached pictures for the Style names!

3/4: 23 styles
6/4: 4 styles
6/8: 13 styles
12/8: 2 styles

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

➪ Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
➪ Never put the manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
