Hi Jan,
you shouldn't always do a Factory Reset whenever a minor problem occurs. In almost all cases it is just a "wrong" user setting.
In the present case it is (was) simply because you selected the setting "
Upper" for the parameter "
Chord Detection Area" in the "Split Point / Fingering" display in the left tab "Split Point". (See also the attached picture.)
The SX600 Owner's Manual says on page 58:
With this setting, the whole right-hand (Upper) section functions as the Chord section as well as for melody
performance. In this condition, note the following points:
• In the right-hand (Upper) section, you can specify the chord type as you play the melody.
• When the Manual Bass function is On, the Voice for the Bass part of the current
Style is muted and assigned to the left-hand (LOWER) section. To turn this func-
tion on/off, use the [1 up/down] buttons.
• The Chord Fingering setting (page 52) will be set to a specific type (“Fingered*”)
automatically, in which case you should press three or more notes simultaneously for specifying
the chord. Pressing two or less notes does not change the chord type.
• Split Point (Style) is unavailable.P.S.
Registrations (e.g. created by other users) can unintentionally change many of your settings (including the Chord Fingering settings, Split Points, Pedals etc.). It is strongly recommended that you make at least one "Start-up Registration" that includes your preferred settings. If your settings are changed unintentionally, e.g. by a Registration unknown to you, you simply call up your Setup Registration and everything will be fine again.
Best regards,
Chris
