STEP EDIT/STEP RECORD
« on: January 16, 2021, 03:36:34 PM »
Can anyone tell me please how to enter chords in 3/4 time in step recording using the notes at the bottom of the screen none of which have a dot after them? Many thanks

Have contacted Yamaha & asked why Channels 1-16  screens have dotted notes available but not the chord input screen, only way is to input a chordi for 3 counts is to input one for 2 counts plus another for 1 count. Not tried it yet but told it wouldn’t affect the bass rhythm.

Thanks for the information, Dawn!

I had read your question in January, but unfortunately I don't know of any possibility of entering dotted notes in the chord area.

Best regards,
Chris

Just press the Note Type Button at the buttom of the screen.
There are tree settings
Normal, with a dot and with a triplet.

Hi Wim,

at first I thought Dawn's problem was easy to solve. But the "Note Type" button is only available in the "normal" Step Edit area for Ch 1 - Ch 16. This button obviously does not exist in the Chord area, and there is probably no way to enter dotted note values. (See also the attached picture.)

Best regards,
Chris

The minimum chord resolution is 0960 ticks or 1/8 note
Then you have a problem with the last 1/8 note
This would be with a dot 1,5x960 tiks = 1440 ticks, and this is not posable.
You can select more then 1 step record note after each other.
Best Regards,
Wim
