Thank you for the assistance. I am simply playing the style (as one would with any other style on this keyboard) and it does this all of the time. (To answer graham's question, I have never done anything with MIDI). But I think I need to clarify and correct what I said now that I have listened to it more carefully. My earlier description wasn't accurate. Here we go. If any of you have this style, you will see that it is in 3/4 time but that the basic pattern repeats every TWO measures of 3 beats each (6-beats total) with the snare drum back beat occurring on the first beat of the second measure in the pattern. So what actually happens is not exactly what I described earlier. What does happen is that when you change a variation, instead of the style staying where it was within the 6 beat cycle, it will sometimes repeat the first measure twice when it should have gone to the second, so if you are playing a melody, your snare will end up being on the first beat of the first measure instead of the first beat of the second. Does this make sense? (The red tempo light stays correct blinking red, green, green, red, green, green, etc.)
I know this reads convoluted but I am not certain that I can describe it more succinctly in text only.
Using numbers, what I get when I change to an alternate variation is
(1,2,3) (first measure) then (1,2,3) first measure repeated when I should be getting (1,2,3) (first measure) followed by (4,5,6) second measure of a 6 beat pattern with a snare on beat I labeled 4 in the second measure. Hope that helps explain my problem. (I am a drummer so there is no confusion here
)
