Hi everyone,
Yesterday I received my PSR-SX900, and it is my return to the arranger keyboards after a 30+ years break ! (In all honesty, I briefly had a Korg EK-50, that I returned, although I liked it, but thanks to that, I could realize what I would miss, and took the plunge to the Yamaha). Can't remember the reference of the Yamaha arranger I had in the 80's (a beige one - no midi, no velocity-sensitive keys, but at least 8 styles with variations and maybe 20 voices: a real killer then).
Having read (a lot) before buying, I could explore today things like chord loops and registrations, leading to a few questions I will ask in the appropriate section.
Playing music is a hobby (that these harsh times force me to practice alone). I am mainly a saxophone player, and, since 30+ years, I do enjoy my Yamaha WX-7 wind controller, linked to a Yamaha (again) VL70-m expander (with the Patchman ROM chip, for those interested). I also play guitar, but at the keyboard I have a 'weak' left hand, hence my interest in the chord looper, which so far gave me the results I expected.
To finish about my setup, at the moment, the PSR, the WX-7, the guitar and my Mac are all linked to my B&O hifi system through a Yamaha
MG10XU mixer and I am pleased with how this all sounds.
I do appreciate that this community exists, giving the full value to the instrument (an example of what I missed with the Korg), thanks to the dedication of the team.
Regards from France,
Thierry
