Genos, search and indexing
« on: November 16, 2020, 09:15:53 PM »
Hello friends!
I searched for a style on Genos, and several style names came up, but when I tried to select one of them the message "flash drive not connected" appeared. I HAD a flash drive connected, and it works perfectly. Could it be that the style name is in the index of Genos, and comes up even when the right flash drive is not connected? Strange...

Hi Toril,

Was it the same flash drive that had that particular style on it originally?
It sounds like the path Genos is looking for, for that style has been changed, and comes up with the error. Try putting your styles on the USER section instead of using USB flash drive.
Also if you have more than one USB flash drive, you have to point the Genos to the right one. It is possible for the Genos to have three USB's installed at the same time.

Hope this helps,

Rick D.

Thanks Rick D! No, I suspect that the style is on a flash drive that was not in the Genos at the moment. But the Genos remembered it and looked for it anyway😀 I will never fully understand this wonderful machine!!

I have all my styles saved to my User Drive. We have around 58Gb so plenty of space to do this and it saves searching through endless USB drives and saves wear and tear on connections also.
