Audio Phraser SX700
« on: November 03, 2020, 07:23:31 PM »
Hi everyone! I created an audio style using Yamaha's audio phraser program. I imported it as a pack into YEM, but it wont let me put it on the keyboard. Says this content cant be installed on the keyboard. but why? i was under the impression that the SX700 can and does work with audio styles. Am I wrong?

Hi Patrick,

yes, you are wrong in this case: Only PSR-SX900, PSR-S975/970, Genos and Tyros5 can use Expansion Audio Styles.

What you can do is to work with REX / RX2 files. These are so called "sliced" Audio Drum Loops which can be created e.g. with the software program "ReCycle":
>>> https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=recycle+create+rex%7Crx2

You can import such REX or RX2 files into the YEM and use the Audio Drum Loops in Styles then:
>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bObx-jaxiUs

This also works on the SX700.

Best regards,
Chris

➪ Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
➪ Never put the manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hi Chris and all, enjoying the topic...
Can the rex imported during pack creation be triggered by keyboard keys or just in styles / multipads?
I watched the video you linked about importing these files, but I think I'll understand better if I put this into practice....
And in case I actually use the audio styles, I create the file with the audio phraser and import it into my pack, install it on the keyboard... And then to find the audio style and continue with the midi part in the style creator?
I ask because I want to decide which option is best for me. From what I've seen so far, using rex files is the best one, correct?
Greetings,
Gabriel
