Value master output
« on: October 13, 2020, 10:10:27 PM »
Hello,
I ask for help to know if it is possible to set the output with different values for each song via regist bank.
The output value I would like to set is in the following path:
mixer / eq -> master -> output.
thanks to those who want to help me

pablitz,

I wondered about this same question, but I don't believe there is a way to set the Master EQ in a registration.

You CAN create preset values for the Master EQ, and Master Compressor, but you would have to manually choose them.

I think that a good strategy is to adjust the Master EQ and Compressor to sound right for your speakers, either using the internal ones, or external.
Then adjust the EQ and Compressors in the mixer Panel and Style tabs, which can then be saved per song in registrations.
Hope that helps!

Hi.

To be able to understand it, read DataList Parameter Chart, page 52:
Master EQ and Compressor has an X on Registration Memory column, which means is NOT available. So you cannot save those parameters in registration memory!

Vali

Hi pablitz,

the Master Volume of MIDI files can be adjusted by inserting a "Master Volume" SysEx into the file. This can be done for example with a free PC program like "PSRUTI" or "MixMaster".
>>> http://www.heikoplate.de/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=67&Itemid=83
>>> https://psrtutorial.com/MB/mixMaster.html

The Master EQ can also be set via SysEx messages that are written into a MIDI file. This can be done easily with the graphical user interface of "Midifile Optimizer XI" (by the German company >>> "www.midiland.de"

But note: I do NOT recommend to use those Master Volume and Master EQ SysEx in MIDI files!

I mainly use the "Optimizer XI" to adapt MIDI files to my personal taste (voices, effects, channel volumes, channel EQs, drum editor). Of course, you can also edit individual MIDI events in the "Optimizer" (by List editor or Piano Roll editor).

Incidentally, the "Optimizer" has a "Master Volume" fader (in addition to the 16 Channel Volume faders). With this, the volumes of all 16 channels can be increased or decreased at the same time (in percentage).

I also use PSRUTI, MixMaster and DAW programs for individual edits.

But as I said, I do NOT use a Master Volume or Master EQ SYSEX in MIDI files.

I always create Registrations (for Style play as well as pure "Voice Registrations") directly on the keyboard (Tyros5 / Genos). Often I also use the Part EQs here. However, the Master EQ is always permanently set for me: I only use the "FLAT" setting here, both at home in connection with monitor boxes or headphones and when performing live. Here I always use an external Mixer so that I can quickly adapt the sound to the room acoustics in question during live operation.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
