Audio Style can be copied to USB.

Simply, copy / paste is used. It is placed on a USB stick and can be played directly from it.

The keyboard says otherwise! I get a message that audiostyles cannot be saved to external media.

Yes, but not with as975 and Tyros 5! There you will get a message telling you that audio styles cannot be copied to external media.

Hi some time since I did it but I seem to remember doing 'save as' then 'save here' when pointing to the external file (user or USB)

Yes, audio styles can be copied to a USB stick. Admittedly, it doesn’t go directly with Tyros5, but via PC it’s possible.

Then Genos and sx can be used on models. I don’t know about Tyros 5, but the author of the topic didn’t ask such a question.

you can copy the internal Audio Styles of the Tyros5 into the User drive, but you cannot copy them to the internal hard disk or a USB stick.

WHY do you want to copy the T5 Audio Styles to a USB stick?

You can only do this on Genos and the SX900 bbecause these two keyboards no longer use them. We have Revo drums instead.

But this thread is in the "Tyros5" board of the forum, and Tyros5 is the only Tyros model that has (and can play) Audio Styles. Therefore it can be assumed that the question here is whether the internal Tyros5 Audio Styles can be copied to a USB stick.

This is, as mentioned, NOT possible. The main reason for this is probably that Tyros5 has a dedicated internal memory for the wave data of Audio Styles. In addition there are 124MB available for the wave data of external Audio Styles (which can be installed via the YEM).

On Genos (with Firmware version 1.20 and newer), PSR-S970/975 and PSR-SX900, Audio Styles can be played directly from a USB stick. But on Tyros5, to my knowledge, this is NOT possible so far.


P.S.
On my T5 I copied the (40) internal Audio Styles into a folder in the User drive, mainly because of the faster access to it. I also remember that at some point I tried to copy these Audio Styles from the User drive to the Computer using the "Musicsoft Downloader": This is also NOT possible on the Tyros5, because you will get an error message.
