Multitrack audio recording questioin
« on: September 06, 2020, 06:58:11 AM »
Friends,
I have few questions regarding Multi track audio recording on Tyros5.

1) When recording keyboard sound and Microphone sound at a time, Is it possible to seperate Microphone sound into second track and then change the volume of Microphone sound ?

2) After the recording performance saved as WAV file in the Tyros5 Hard disk and when recorded audio is converted into Aud Format for editing,  how many maximum times we can again edit the performance ?

Thanks,
Sunny

I don't think it is possible
Better use a computer with Software with multi H.D. recording
I use Magic Video De Luxe
so i can also add video tracks
In theorie 128 audio video and pictures tracks to use
Also a mixer and sound editor with a lot off video and audio effects

Hi, I play a PSR S970, I record the song in midi form on the USB clip, that way it doesn't take up much memory.
If performing live you can then replay that recorded song as a backing song & sing along with it & add any extra right hand sounds you wish.
Or, if you just want a total recording of keys plus voice you can play the recorded song into a DAW [eg Bandlab's Cakewalk Pro - it's free & pro standard with lots of tutorials on YouTube] = I record the backing onto 2 tracks, 1 left & 1 right; I then record the vocals onto a third track, with backing vocals onto a 4th track if required.

You need a box to connect between your keyboard [& mic] and the computer - I use Focusrite Clarett 4 pre USB as it has 2 headphone jacks each with a volume control - great for duo recording.

Hope this helps,

Mike

I have a Weird Solution.

Requirements what ever DAW you have Say Audacity will even do.

Pan The Microphone to the Left Or Right.

The Other Instruments in the keyboard should be panned to the other speaker
If the Microphone is on the right speaker
Internal Keyboard to the Left speaker
At the same time Record the keyboard playing in MIDI so that you can play it back and have a copy of only the keyboard.

On the DAW you'll have Mono microphone recording

And you can Export the midi Recording to wave
And bring that to the DAW as well.

Magic video has also a track for midi-files
When you want a pro recording
Record the tracks from every midi channel by mutting the other midi channels
Gives you also more space to use more layers and voices with more samples
Also when you use the sustain or hold controler on a voice like piano that takes a lot of keyboard memorie
Add the mic or other instrument recordings on their own tracks
Make a mix and add effects record all tracks as a video or a mp3 track

You need to use the sub track for this. Record your main track first and then select sub to record vocal in. You should be able to set the right volume to this track. When you are happy with it then merge the tracks to complete your WAV file.

Hi Eileen,

Thanks for the reply. There is an option to convert recorded WAV file to AUD and  add another track  to this converted AUD file. So How many times we can repeat to add another track to the first recorded WAV file ?

Thanks,
Sunny
