Extract drumkits from PPI file
« on: July 27, 2020, 04:29:26 AM »
Hi,

I know it is not possible to convert PPI to PPF but I want to copy the drumkits in a PPI to my expansion as they are mapped to the PPI styles. Any idea how to do it? or should I ask the PPI owner to provide it?

Thanks

Hi Hamza,

if the Styles that are in a .ppi use new Voices / Drum Kits from this .ppi, the only way for you is to ask the creator of the .ppi to provide the original .ppf files of the individual Packs contained in the ppi.

Only in this way you can then import these Packs into the YEM and make your own .ppi to install the desired Packs (or parts of them) properly on your keyboard.

P.S.
You could extract the so called "Voice Set" files from a .ppi using the "YEM-CE" (YEM Content Explorer) program. But this is useless in your case, because these files can only be used to call up the Voices / Drum Kits of an Expansion Pack if the Pack has been properly installed beforehand.

Best regards,
Chris
