Rikki's Styles for SX900
« on: July 03, 2020, 08:10:29 AM »
Hello
Rikki has very kindly supplied a list of styles for download that are not in the SX900 from other keyboards on the SX900 page.
Could anybody tell me where to load these styles into the sx900, is it the usre area or the expansion memory or from the USB stick.
Much appreciated Rikki for spending the time to do this and would appreciate the advice from someone please.
Thank you
Regards
Geoff

Hi Geoff, just put all the Rikki styles on the USB stick, you'll save the user and the expansion memory, all the best Patrick

Hi Geoff,

you can play such external Styles directly from USB stick, or, if desired, you can copy the Styles from USB stick into the User drive first.

Best regards,
Chris

Hello and Thank You All.
Sorry I haven't replied earlier I have been busy and now setting up the SX900.
First impressions after the T5 are impressive and don't need the speakers or Sub woofer Ideal.
Playlist/music finder taking some getting used to but I think by Jove I've got it!
Thank you once again.
Just going to put them on the flash drive noe.
Cheers
Geoff

Hi Ingar,
one of you favourite piano type styles. I think it’s a real oldie, goes way back to psr 2100 if I’m not mistaken. The cvp  version sounded better on the sX900 than the psr version, at least to my ears.

I was actually working on some piano pads a while ie turning style tracks into pads. Thought it might be a great way to audition different types of left hand piano patterns with  various  styles. Then incorporate pad into the style itself.

I remember finishing one for a song I was hoping to learn, Somewhere in Time.

I’d totally forgotten about the project, thank you for the reminder.

If you’re into arpeggiated left hand styles, you’re welcome to have a copy. Just need to recheck it might still need a bit of a tweak.
Best wishes

Yes, thank you so much Rikki! I can vouch that it has not been a waste of time. If you help at least one person in any endeavor, you have already paid it forward!

They all do sound wonderful on my SX700 when I have the matching voices. Is there a list I can view to see what the original voices are on the styles? If not, I do not mind putting in the time with jososoft's OTS Editor and/or Style Remixer. Thanks in advance!

Hi Walt,
sorry, not really, I sorted thru something like 4 to 5 thousand styles ( one by one, haha) to get them condensed down to what I ended up with, I wouldn’t even know anymore which version of the style I kept ie  a tyros or a psr version  , of an identical style, I just kept the version I thought sounded best on the sx.

I’m aware  of the josoft programs, but I’ve only used the style splitter program to date.  I was basically a Korg user for the last 10 years, ( mainly converted my psr styles that I needed  across to Korg )
then the sx900 came along. It inspired me to go thru all the old psr styles I’d collected over many years, and sort thru them. Haven’t really had much of a chance to find out what all the different software programs do.
Style splitter is brilliant though.

Maybe need to check out some of the others. Haha

Best wishes
