If this infers you want to set velocities to precise values for multi sampling from Genos you can turn off Touch say for R1 then dial in the fixed velocity you want to apply for that sample/layer etc.

You absolutely misunderstood me there...   thats not what i meant..
I was talking of the dynamics in a synth voice, where you use the velocity parameter as a form of CC to change  your sound.... a good example is using it to drive the filter resonance, as the harder you hit the key, the further the filter opens (or closes)

Because of what they want to do with it in the future..

I understood they want to move the website to the US..
They are now adapting the US website for european currencies

I also understood from my German friends that Yamaha is cutting down the european department to just service, promotion and sales..  they are going to use 3rd party companies for developing sounds and styles..


This is just a tiny part of a massive opperation.

The european order-database will be imported into the US one but that will take a little more time. Previous purchases are not 'lost'.

Has anyone managed to download the Eurodance 2016 and Entertainer 2016 packs for T5 or Genos. When I try to download I am getting the older pre-2016 versions of the packs for T5 only, despite an email from Yamaha stating this issue had been fixed and should provide the correct 2016 versions for both T5 and Genos.

Yes, those two packs and a couple of others is now updated and contains Genos version as well.
You have to place a new order and download from the new links provided in the 'Library'.

I downloaded Euro dance 2016 for Genos last night and it works fine, no issues so far.

Since the packs are now offered for free by Yamaha, I assume what I would like to ask is legal:

I would love to use the Entertainer 2016 pack on my PSR-SX900, but I cannot import the CPF file in YEM because I only own a PSR-S975 and an SX900.
Would someone be so kind to install above mentioned pack on his/her Genos and copy the individual styles (and maybe other contents of the pack, voices, multipads, kits) to USB, so they are saved as seperate files? I understand that not everything may be compatible with my SX900 but we will see how it sounds.

I'm mainly interested in the DanceSchlager2 style, but would love to play with the rest of the content as well.

There are, you got it right. But these are just vce or drop files that can't be played if the Pack is not entered in Expasion.

I did already install the Entertainer pack for the PSR-S, but it lacks some of the styles of the newer 2016 version.
What I did not realize is that all the voices are in fact the same in the original and the 2016 version, so thank you for the tip.

What remains are the multipads. I am not familiar with the term "drop files" and I do not understand how voices or multipads cannot be played "if the pack is not entered in expansion". What do you mean by that? Can't the multipads be saved/copied from the Genos to USB as .PAD or .PD2 files?

I wrote it wrong (stupid google translator  ) "drop" is Pad. Multipads in the Pack use voices from the Pack. If you want to experiment though, here are the 2016 Pads for Genos.

Thanks for the PAD files. They work like a charm on my SX900, did not have to experiment or alter anything (although I do have the old Entertainer pack installed on the keyboard).

Hi,

Yamaha has always given a raw deal to India. My Genos in India came without wifi setup. Now I have been trying to download these free packs but none of them is showing up on my login.

Request anybody to share an external link from wherein I can download the free packs for my Genos. I did download Celtic pack from one such link. Need to get a few more.

You should see the free the first page of the free Genos Packs. (Click on "See more" button on the bottom of the page to display the second page.)

Use the link that overover provided. Choose Add to cart for the (free) packs you desire. When you are done, proceed to checkout. If all were free packs, you can continue without actually paying and you will receive a confirmation email.
After you have "purchased" them, you will find personal download-links under "My Library" (you have to be logged in).

Thanks for replying. When I click on the link without logging in, I can obviously see all the 35 packs available for downloaded. But the moment I log in with my id to select and add them to the cart, all of them vanish and I get a message "We can't find products matching the selection"

Just so stupid of Yamaha to block even the free items !!!

The free items is not blocked as far as I can see, but my experience is that it's important to be logged in before add any items to the shopping basket.
