Some of the downloaded packs have files with an SME extension, like this one: Choir_Vocals_Genos.sme

How to deal with this kind of file? There is a txt file with a key, what application is used to unpack it?

I have the same problem. In several other packs like "Euro_US_Organ_Genos.sme" the same problem. I have tried with YEM, we cann't import the file. In Internet I couldn't  find any hints for that. Maybe, somenone in the forum knows it.
Another problem is related to pack contents. The oriental pack has following files:
Oriental-GR-TR_SX900.cpf
Oriental-GR-TR_SX700.cpf
Oriental-GR-TR_S975.cpf
Oriental-GR-TR_S970.cpf
Oriental-GR-TR_S775.cpf
Oriental-GR-TR_S770.cpf

I have Genos, and in YEM it is not possible to import it and make a ppi-File for Genos.

Maybe an Advice for members in European Countries. To get access to US-Site, I have tested my German adress code: like 40468, it has been accepted. But I have to register my instrument with serial nr once again. European site is still down.
To download the packs, I was waiting for an e-mail from yamaha, which I have never received by now. Instead in my account, I have choosen my library, I could download all packs.

The txt file with smekey is added in the folders where the file "Choir_Vocals_Genos.sme" and also in Alpen folder.
This is as far as I can understand it sound files. YEM don't read .sme, so I guess the manuals will tell.... well, if not anyone here have the solution of how to use?
The 'giveaways' is nice, but for those of us that have paid for most of it earlier, it's not much to gain.....

The big question after this event is: What next Yamaha? 🤔

Downloading a "pack" is bringing down a zip with all versions in it. But the file is of type .sme with a 'key' file beside it. YEM doesn't like the file, even changing its extension to .cpf. I suspect they've missed something out in the sequence that generates the archive file to be downloaded. (SmartEncryptor didnt't recognise the file either by the way)

The Celtic pack also brought down athe T5 and Genos versions, but at least they were .cpf files. It loaded up into YEM, but I've not exported it to the Genos yet.

in the pack,for example Oriental (Greece & Turkey), there were no hint about it, which states that it is not suitable for Genos. Why should I download it, if I cann't use it?
Why there is no Oriental-GR-TR_GENOS.cpf, or at least ppf? From 18 packs I could download, I can only use thre packs for Genos:
Colors of Iberia 2 Genos.cpf,
Celtic_Genos.cpf and
EuroDance_SX900SX700.ppf.
Other packs are either in sme-format or cpf for other PSR-instruments, but no use for Genos.


The new pages from yamaha are not user friedly at all.

As a test, I was able to start my USA MusicSoft  "order" download of the Church & Christmas Pack. However after about 60 MB of the total 380 MB zip file, the server download resets itself to 0 and tries again. Finally after three times resetting to 0 a "Failed - Server problem" notice ends any progress. So it's obvious,the  MusicSoft server is either overloaded, or not quite ready to handle large downloads. I'll try again some other time.

Hi guys, I still have the same problem as yesterday.
Now when I perform the download and it seems that it will be done at the end, a message appears: Error download incomplete !!

Another error is that on the wueb site, when I add a new item to the shopping cart, a message appears: "it has been added to the cart" but when I go to check another message appears: "There is nothing in your shopping cart"

The truth is frustrating not knowing what happened to your order. Hans

Hi folks --

This web site is horribly broken. There are basic user interface errors and I'm not sure the site is even populated (loaded) with all of the products. For example, it only lists 21 products and some of them are MIDI and style files!

I did manage to purchase the Celtic premium pack and try to download. The first download failed with "Server error". The next download would complete -- and then start all over again! I refreshed the "My Library" page, tried again and successfully downloaded celtic_premiumpack.zip.

This site is NOT ready for prime time. Our kid does this for a living and would be horrified to see what Yamaha or its site vendor have done.

Hans, I had the same problem. The user interface would only acknowledge an item in my cart when I was logged in. If I added to the cart without logging in, it thought the cart was empty. Also, what's up with the suitcase icon for a shopping cart. Ridiculous choice of icon. It should be a cart.

I just unzipped celtic_premiumpack.zip. It contains three CPF files: Celtic_Genos.cpf, Celtic_T5.cpf and Celtic_T5_75.cpf. Each CPF file is 84MB. So, the ZIP file is 3 times bigger than necessary, requiring 3 times as much server bandwidth to download.

I've seen better university "senior projects" than this...

Yes, this is a beginner’s approach in website restoration.

But you need to be patient and as far as I can see, soon (1-2 weeks) we will be able to download a lot of quality content for free. Premium Voice makes me most happy.

If I put an USA zip code in, it keeps the same and nothing is happening. I'm also getting a pop up telling me, that you only can order in USD

I'm  in Europe too and signed in with my usual name and password and pressed the sign in Button. No zip code asked and all my credentials where OK.

I've just installed two pacs that I did not have at Genos, and it works well.
Earlier today I downloaded a lot of the others, did it even if I have no use of it at the moment.
The only thing that make me wonder just now, is the .sme and keyfiles in the Genos choir and alpen voicepacks.

It's incomprehensible as a leading company in its field, allow this absolute disaster. The programming of the site seems to be done by a bad newbie.
Before uploading a new website, you need to test it offline by simulating stressful situations, and wait until everything works properly.
However, Yamaha is also to be thanked for this magnificent gift.

Clearly the website isn't properly running yet, it's extremely slow (although it was before they upgraded it) and the downloads don't complete when you try any of them, just time out.  I guess it's best to give it a few weeks for the team to get it sorted out.  From what I've seen so far though (I'm in the UK by the way), most of what is free was given away in the premium pack when Genos was upgraded to v2 OS.  I ordered 25 or 26 free files and I'm unable to successfully download any of them, so glad I didn't pay out for anything yet.  I'll come back to it in a few weeks and have another try. :-)   It's definitely not the best website I've come across, awful user experience, painfully slow, probably not very accessible and not intuitive at all (I work in digital communications!).

I recently downloaded several free extension packs and was totally confused with the .sme files. I thought I was missing something in the down load procedure. Alas, these comments have assured me of the prevailing problem many of us are enduring. Maybe Yamaha will correct this annoyance soon.

Come on Guys.   Just be patient.

Yamaha has said that it will take a week or two to sort it all out.

For those people that do not live in the USA  just wait until your country shop window appears. There is little point in going to the USA Site as your details are not there.  Yes, you may be able to log on and download loads of stuff you do not need, but when you come to actually purchase something in the future you will have some problem.  Each of the local country's shop window has all the currency, language, Tax details, etc. ---- so just be patient.

There is more change on the horizon -  so no need to download things just because it's free.  It NOT a short-lived sale.

Yamaha must mean something else.
