Hi Islam,
I'm not the only one who's asking that? I've bought a Yamaha PSR-A 2000 in august 2015, which I use mostely for a musical band I'm in. It's a little bit damaged, I think. Then I've bought a PSR-A3000 as a christmas gift in 2016. With both I have 4 or 5? years using those keyboards so I really need an update to both and use the other 2 as  backupp keyboards. I don't know if the model shall be releaced since I explore the arranger workstation list on the Yamaha website, and it doesn't appear, nor I don't know how to follow the development of the model. I really don't know the answer, sorry. If I'm wrong please correct me, since I want to follow development.

Here are the facts:
PSR-A3 - 1995
PSR A1000  - 2002 (+7 years)
PSR A2000 2010 (+8 years)
PSR A3000 2015 (+5 years)

So a guess is that we can expect the new oriental model on 2021 (+6 years).
But as we all know every forecast is now change due COVID-19 pandemia.

Another interesting point to keep in mind is that the oriental model is always based to another existing model.
PSR A3 was a variation of PSR 520, A1000 was a variation  of PSR 1000, A2000 was based on PSRs700 and A3000 is a variation of PSR 770.

I believe that we already have the model in which A4000 will be based and this is SX700.
So if everything goes as expected I'm sure that we will see the A4000 sometime in 2021 !

Hi Danand, I agree that it is very likely (NOT sure) that we will see the A4000 or whatever it is called at any time in 2021, we have to wait and see.

On the other hand I think we will see very soon the replacement of the S670. since this has 6 years in the market. Cheers. Hans

Thanks for the chart bro! I believe also that the tentatively named PSR-A4000 or what ever the number is will be releaced no sooner or later than 2021 I think. Finally gonna have to purchase a new keyboard for that year and I'm just waiting for it.

It definitely seems that Yamaha has hit the brakes on the development of many of their keyboard lines.  Some of it could be Covid-19 related, but not all of it.  Normally, a replacement for the PSR-E463 would've been out earlier this year, and therefore in development before the pandemic, but so far, not a peep.  The newest higher-end portable keyboard on their US website is the PSR-I500 -- an Indian music based offshoot of the E463 (though it does include some interesting features that I want to check out).  As far as I can see in the photos, it uses the same shell/housing as the E463 but just has different functions for some of the buttons.

I would've expected replacements for the PSR-E263 and E363 last year, but all we got was the PSR-E273 this year, and nothing else.

And of course, as noted above, the PSR-S670 is now 5-6 years old.  It was preceded by the PSR-S650, and when the models ending in "50" were replaced with those ending in "70", we got the PSR-S670, S770, and S970.  But since then, the higher models have been replaced twice, with the S775 and S975, and then the SX700 and SX900, while the S670 continues unchanged.

Good summary. But not only at Yamaha, also at the other manufacturers (Korg, Casio etc.) nothing happens. It seems to me that one is waiting for the other.

I suppose there are only so many different keyboards manufactures can produce and it is always going to be the most popular ones that get upgraded. A lot of the small keyboards are usually purchased by schools but Music Lessons seemed to have been put on the back boiler in many. So not as many sales.

OR700 wasn't part of the pro-series, according my opinion.
Based on 99,99% on A-1000 with some additions from more recent, low-priced arrangers.
Nothing special...

Hello danand !!!!
No you are wrong ... having A1000 OR700 and A2000 i can say that OR700 is much much better than A1000. Also OR700 is like PSR-S700/900.. A1000 is like PSR-1000/2000.
also almost all PSRs oriental or not have the same engine and same controls but OR700 have nothing to do with A1000 ... Still have them both !!!

I also expected it to be called A4000, not A5000. But I can't wait to try one (still hasn't arrived in Canada)

As a retailer, I can tell you that Mega Voice & Balcino are correct: the PSRor700 was the replacement for the A1000, then the A2000 came later (why they didn't call it the A1500 I have no idea). The PSROR700 was based on the PSRs700; the PSRA2000 was essentially: the PSRA1000 styles, but now with megavoice! And it was based off the PSRs710 chip. And the PSRA3000 was based off the PSRs770.

The new PSRA5000? Not 100% based on anything... it has more Revo kits than the Genos! (The sx900 has none). It *appears* to be mostly sx700 architecture (which was in turn based on the s970/s975) but with completely new drum kits. *Appears: I haven't actually tried one yet to verify. Sample ram is the larger 1Gb from the sx900.

From my research, the PSR-A5000 appears to be based on the PSR-SX900. It has voices that aren't on the SX700 but are on the 900, such as the Rock drum kit and the Schlager kit. It also has a chord looper, which the SX700 doesn't have. The SX700 comes with about 400 MB of voice expansion memory, while both the SX900 and the A5000 come with about a gigabyte.

A little difference.

The PSR-SX900 comes with a 4GB Internal Memory, while the A-5000's Internal Memory is 2GB.

Oh, I understand. Does the A5000 come with a USB recorder? As in, you can record audio directly to a USB flash drive, or have audio from the keyboard play on your computer, like the PSR-SX600? I think it would be a good keyboard, but if it doesn't have that, I may or may not reconsider. The fact that it has Revo!SFX and Revo drums minus the wave cycling... that's amazing.

I saw that on the news. Seems I'm waiting to purchase the new PSR-A5000 keyboard as of now I don't know if it's now purchasing it in North America than purchasing it online. Maybe I'll get it as a birthday or eaven crissmas present, I don't know. 1100 voices? Wow I really...
In my case as a blind person, I really don't know when I get the keybord, will try to add acccessibility support, since it has a touch screen will be kind of complicated to navigate the menus. And also I don't know the cost of the keyboard: some $1600 or something?

Hi Chriss,
Will the expansion packs that I've download from the yamahamusicsoft page when they were free will import into the PSR-A500once I got one?  Also, for blind persons just like me, will be there some form of a screen reader to navigate between menus? As it uses a touchscreen and somehow it's complicated to use it. As I've heard the psrx series have a screen read function, however I'm wrong. And last but not least, how much it cost? The first PSR-A that I baught wast almost $1400, while the A3000 $1500 or something. Probably the price could be very high, as the entire number of features are integrated on the keyboard. Ah, it has 2 usb to devices terminals, so I can connect 2 usb's in the keyboard and

On A5000, SX900/700 and of course also on Genos, you can record Audio either to the internal User drive or directly to the connected USB stick.

Please refer also to section "Song Recording" in the relevant Owner's Manual (e.g. in A5000 Owner's Manual on page 88, or in SX900/700 Owner's Manual on page 85).

From the A5000 owner's manual, it says, for audio recording:
"With this method, recorded performances are saved to the instrument as an Audio file." It doesn't mention the USB stick for audio, but it does for MIDI.
For MIDI it says:
"With this method, recorded performances are saved to the instrument or a USB flash drive as an SMF (format 0)
MIDI file." That's a shame, because I don't know how I'd transfer the audio to a flash drive, since I can't see.

Please go to page 88 of the A5000 Owner's Manual (as I mentioned before). There you will find the following information:

"Note
The destination to save the recorded

mined, according to the connection

can change the priority storage set-

This is the same as on PSR-SX900/700 and Genos.

Me also. As for the scale functions I think it has been changed. Now there's main scale and sub scale. The only problem that I will have is to set them up, since it requires the screen to for example set a sub-scale. Also instaling an expansion pack. At the meantime I need sighted assistance before some type of voice guide will arrive.

Now that we have one on the showroom floor, I can confirm it is not based on the sx900 or sx700 (both have choir and string samples not on the A5000)... the A5000 actually uses the same strings and choirs as the PSRsx600/s770/DGX6700. The piano I can't tell; it's very crisp, but appears to be the same one as the DGX670.

The A5000 contains the scaled down PSRsx900 versions of the Pop Kit and Schlager kit, but not any of the others like the Rock or Jazz kits.

But what it does have? An abundance of Revo (not scaled down live versions) of Oriental /Middle Eastern kits, More Ouds and Watariyat than I've ever seen in 1 keyboard.

It must be; our first shipment (in Canada) has arrived and sold out (we have 1 display model left, and that's it); and the US always gets product slightly ahead of us. My guess is the same thing has happened there; the 1st shipment has come and gone; our 2nd shipment will be in Sept; which means they'll be available again then -- unless they're presold before they arrive; For example Genos is so badly sold out that it's roughly a 3 month wait currently. The last few I sold were all pre-orders

I would suggest pre-ordering from your local retailer in order to secure one when the next shipment arrives.

It's got the same 1gb of sample ram as the PSRsx900, and surprisingly, can take Audiostyles (they sx700 can't) and more Revo drums than even the Genos (but it doesn't contain all the Genos ones). It's *not* the same base chipset & soundset as the sx700 or sx900... turns out it's based on the PSRsx600/DGX670 chipset, but with more Ouds and Watariyat than you can shake a stick at!

OK now that you're talking about purchasing the PSR-A5000 is there a viable way to purchase it outside the USA? I mean, since that Amazon said that the keyboard isn't available right now maybe they're out of stock, I may have to wait until it comes, but before that I need to sell my 2 older yamaha keyboards that I don't use: My PSR-S710 and PSR-A2000. I don't eaven know were to sell it, since I didn't sell a product in my life, I only know how to purchase it.
