Wireless MIDI connection
« on: May 17, 2020, 03:48:25 PM »
Hello, I just connected my Clavinova to my Windows 10 computer using common USB cable for MIDI editing. Not interesting in audio yet.
It works well, but unfortunately my piano is placed so far from my PC, so I'm looking for any possible wireless MIDI connection.
What about UD-WL01? I know this dongle connects the piano to home wifi network, but not sure if the piano can be recognized as MIDI device in Windows 10. I installed Yamaha drivers and, as I mentioned, it works very well with USB connection. Are these drivers able to be used in the same way with UD-WL01? What do you think? Thanks.

Nocturne64. Have a look at NETGEAR Wireless Extender. This will boost signal for poor reception areas of a house.
We use one in a large home and does the job well. PRICE around £20.

Hi Nocturne64,

which Clavianova model do you have exactly?

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris, I have CVP809. Very happy with this instrument. No problem with wifi coverage in this room, but I can not leave a very long USB cable on the floor... so a wireless replacement would solve this problem.
