Importing .wav files
« on: May 15, 2020, 10:02:03 PM »
Hi,

I just started to work on the song "living on a prayer" by Bon Jovi and I got some samples in wav format for the talkbox part that I want to import and use in Genos. The samples are the same that are used in this video that are played on a Korg Koronos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvMAsojA8BI
I haven't started to explore YEM yet, but is it possible to use YEM to do something similar?

Thanks

Why not skip YEM and use them in audio multipads?

Cheers,

Thank you, Fred.

I haven't played around so much with multipads but it might be an option. There are six sample files in total, so I will need six multipads to pull it off, but  I guess it's possible if I use two registrations with two different multipad sets. I just thought it would be easier to get the timing correct if I mapped them to 6 different keys on the Genos.

Ok, so I started to play with YEM and figured out how to create a pack and add a "drum voice" so that I could assign the different wav files to the keys I wanted.
So far, everything fine and this is exactly what I wanted to achive, but now to the problem.
All six wav files are sound normal when playing back on the computer with a media player. However, only two of those wav files sounds normal when importing the in YEM.
The other four sample just contain a clicking sound.
I have attached two files - one working in YEM (01_LOP-C) and the other one (02_LOP-D), that only produce the click sound in YEM. (rename the files from .jpg to .Wav)
If you have any idea on whats going on and how to fix it, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Always best to link your keyboard to computer and listen to the edits you are doing through keyboard.

Thank you Eileen,

I think the issue was that the audio files was not properly tempo synced. I was able to fix the issue, by timestretch them to fit the current tempo.
After that, I could assign them without problem in YEM.
