which software would I need for this?
« on: May 09, 2020, 02:46:59 PM »
I'm a total newbie when it comes to manipulating files for use on my DGX-650.
Earlier today I downloaded and installed Style Remixer and after a few tries was able to do something simple like moving an Intro-B to Intro-A.

I've read where many of the more recent styles for the modern PSRs have cooler main C and main D sections than the A and B which is all my DGX can use. So I'd like to occ'ly be able to move these to A or B but to do this I'd have to know which styles have these superior main C and D sections.
Which software would I download and install to view this?

Might as well toss one more question in here.  The DGX can play .sty files but not, I take it,  *.psr files.  So to alter files will I have to restrict myself to sty files or can I alter psr files and then save them as sty files?

there is a style converter it convert new styles to old styles
you can find it on the software page
you can find also a style editor to remove and replace style part

This one's easy. Just rename it. Change the "psr" to "sty" on your computer. Then your keyboard will recognize it.

Rename it is not enough
there are stil  wrong voices like meta and sa voices
The style converter repair those wrong voices by replace them with dgx standaard voices

It's true renaming might not be enough, but that's also true of .sty files. But renaming does work in a lot of cases, and for those that it doesn't, it gives you a file you can work on.

Do the style converter and style editor programs require Java?
It seems that java doesn't seem to play nice on my Windows 10  64 bit machine.
I downloaded and installed latest version and then restarted my PC.  Tried all 5 of the browsers I have on the java test page and they all spit out a variety of errors.

So if java is necessary I may not be able to use those programs.

Thanks for the feedback.  I will try to see where things stand when I rename some psr files sty.
