« on: May 03, 2020, 07:47:59 PM »
Hi All
this is my 2nd day of my PSR S 950. I went thro  some of styles and noticed the "Acoustic Rock"  and "Funk pop rock" styles got a small noise . it is  "chrick" , "chrick " and it is sync with the rhythm too. so if you are really listen this you can hear it. I have asked my friend in AUS , he also confirm that this small noise. is this normal?

Thank you

Hi Chirath,

yes, this "chrick" noise is NORMAL with these two Styles! I did a short test with these Styles and found that this "chrick" sound is on Channel 9 (= Rhy 1).

Press [Mixing Console] button repeatedly until "STYLE" is displayed. To my knowledge, RHY1 (= CH9) and RH2 (= CH10) are shown on BOTH pages (1/2 and 2/2).

If you increase the Volume of the RHY1 Part, you should hear the "chrick" noise louder. You can also decrease that Volume if desired, but there are other drum instruments on this Part (e. g. a HiHat) ...

If you make changes here, you can simply memorize it to a Registration, or you can go to "Style Creator" and save the Style again (to the User drive or onto a USB stick).

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Chirath.

Yes it is normal for those styles, you can turn it off in the mixer, as Chris stated above..

It's normal on those styles, it's a "old vinyl noise fx" and it's on one of the drum kits (I don remember the name of the kit)
Genos 2, Korg PA5X, Ketron EventX, Nord PedalKeys27

Hi Chirath,

in the S950 Preset Styles "AcousticRock" and "FunkPopRock", on Channel 9 (Rhy 1) the "DanceKit" is used. On this channel there are some MIDI notes (#26) with Velocity 50 that play the "Vinyl Noise" sound (as mentioned by Teknoss before). If this DanceKit is not available on the keyboard you are using, the "chrick" sound you mentioned will be generated instead of "Vinyl Noise" (or another sound, depending on the drum kit used, or maybe there is NO sound heard for these notes #26).

I found a relatively simple way to remove these notes from the Styles by using the PC Program "Single Note Volume Changer":

If you want to know details about the procedure, just come back here. :)

Best regards,
Chris
