In YEM, when you select and send some content in keyboard, the progress bar will become dark-gray (or black). That means some information was send to keyboard. Any editing of existing content or adding some new content in YEM, will increase that progress bar, and it will be in green color, which means new content, which has not been sent to keyboard.
PQI is a "Quick Install" pack which contains exactly that "green" progress, that edited content or new added. Which means, Yamaha added a function in YEM and in keyboard to accept only a part/chunk of your data.

To be able to save PQI/CQI install files, you have to compile first a PPI/CPI file. That means some initial data has to be there (in keyboard) to be able to compile a PQI/CQI after that. Even so, in some conditions, a PQI/CQI file cannot be compiled, because some addresses has been changed for existing content, which must format memory before install, that means you cannot make PQI/CQI files.

Regards,
Vali
